Director/Principal of BI (Business Intelligence) Practices
Responsibilities include:
-Solution Offering Development
-Definition of standard solution offerings aligned with our methodology
-Evolution of the solution offerings based on emerging market opportunities
-Development of collateral (both market facing and internal) for the solution offerings, working with our marketing team
-Assist in the development of customized methodology routes for the solutions
-Business Development Support
-Sales enablement across all business units including pre-sales support for strategic opportunities and sales education for business developers and senior delivery resources
-Participation in collaborative market planning to identify tactics and opportunities within the business units
-Stewardship of the KM (Knowledge Management) repository for sales documents
-Participation in vendor alliance relationships where appropriate. Note, the nature of the CWPs is vendor agnostic and the resources are limited so any role in vendor alliance role will, by definition, need to be supporting the primary relationship manager with strategic opportunities.
-Strategic Delivery Support
-Billable leadership role on strategy engagements
-Billable quality assurance role on engagements to support the consistent delivery of these solutions. The involvement will be driven by the strategic nature of the client engagement, expectations established during the sales process, and the experience of the delivery team.
-Stewardship of the KM repository for example client deliverables and templates
-Participation in high-level resource management decisions to provide guidance on the skills required and potential resource considerations
-Company-Wide Competency Development
-Leadership to build an extended team across all business units
-Define required skills and competencies along with a framework to support career planning and development within the business units
-Facilitate communication across all colleagues who are aligned with/interested in the practice area
-Participate in the recruiting and interviewing of senior level candidates
-Augment the general job descriptions by identifying unique education and skill requirements for individuals interested in specializing with the practice area
-Leadership
Qualifications:
-10 years of experience delivering comprehensive technology-based solutions
-10 years experience in CWP solution area
-Experience in all facets of Datawarehouse and business intelligence, including:
-Data Acquisition
-Data Integration
-Data Storage
-Data Modeling
-Master Data Management
-Meta-Based solutions
-Reporting & Analytics (including Advanced Analytics)
-Data Visualization/Presentation/Collaboration
-Metadata Management
-Data Governance
Experience in multiple of the following Datawarehouse/business intelligence technologies:
-IBM (Ex. DataStage, DB2, Cognos, MDM)
-Oracle (Ex. ODI, Oracle DB, OBIEE, Hyperion, etc.)
-Microsoft (Ex. SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, etc.)
-SAP (Ex. SAP BW, Business Objects, Business Objects Xcelsium, etc)
-Open Source (Ex. TalenD, Pentaho
-Experience in developing sales strategies, go-to-market strategies and all forms of related sales/marketing collateral
-Experience in developing technology independent reference architectures and methodologies
-Understanding of Datawarehouse and Business Intelligence trends
-Bachelors degree (advanced degree preferred)
-Strong understanding of the professional services industry, including technical services, systems integration, and strategic business solutions
-Experience as a consulting lead, delivering full life cycle solution development engagements for enterprise initiatives with gross fees in excess of $1M
-Strong client relationship management skills
-Comfortable facilitating interactions and discussions with C level executives
-Experience managing the proposal process and pursuit teams in a consultative, solution based sales model
-Ability to present proposal solutions to all levels of client management
-Ability to articulate complex issues, thought leadership, and the business value of solutions
-Experience with accurate project estimation and planning
-Proven risk management, issue resolution and change control experience
-Proven management, leadership and mentoring skills
-Proven thought leadership in CWP solution area
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
