Job Description
CAD Design Supervisor - Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all activities of 5-8 designers.
- Generate CAD drawings in addition to supervising design group
- Mentor and teach junior designers
- Interface with Project Engineers to obtain design information to generate drawings
- Responsible for meeting project schedules
- Responsible for meeting budgeted design hours for each project
- Ensure compliance to company drawing standards and procedures
- Maintain company part numbering system
- Maintain and update as necessary company drawing formats
- Keep management informed of design status and issues
Qualification Requirements:
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of manufacturing practices and techniques
- Must have the ability to build a drawing package
- Understanding of dimensional tolerancing
- Understanding of different requirements for customer drawings and shop drawings
- Familiarity with HVAC packaged systems is a plus
- At least 8 years experience with AutoCAD and industrial design
- At least 3 years design supervisory experience
